What To Expect From Your Cleaner
With busy lifestyles and hectic work schedules, many people consider employing a regular cleaner to help stay on top of chores around the home to help maintain cleanliness. We feel that the valuable and professional service that we provide helps those families we clean for immensely, but, if you haven’t employed the services of a cleaner before, you probably have a few questions relating to what we provide. In this post, we look at some of the frequently asked questions when making the decision to employ cleaning services and hopefully provide some answers for you.
How Much Can I Expect To Pay For Cleaning Services?
For the professional and conscientious cleaning services we provide, we charge a fair and competitive rate. Our regular cleaning service costs £18 per hour.
How Many Hours Should I Book My Cleaner For?
This will all depend upon the size of your house, your budget and the tasks that you would like to be carried out. It’s important to set realistic expectations of what a cleaner can achieve within a certain timeframe and budget before employing cleaning services. On the one hand you will want value for money, but on the other hand you will want your cleaner to do a good job.
We can give you a better idea of what to expect from your cleaner during your free cleaning consultation. Before we commence cleaning for you, we will visit you in your home and you can tell us exactly what assistance you require, run through any specific requirements and we can let you know how long we think it will take us to do all that you ask.
What Kinds of Tasks Will My Cleaner Carry Out?
Prior to employing professional cleaning services, make a list of any tasks that you would like to have carried out. There may be jobs you absolutely hate doing and others that you prefer to do yourself. As a good starting point, generally cleaning tasks can include:
- Vacuuming carpets and mopping floors
- Cleaning the kitchen work surfaces (do you need the cupboard doors cleaned too?)
- Cleaning bathroom surfaces, toilets, shower cubicles and bath
- Dusting and polishing of surfaces and ornaments.
- Emptying bins (inside)
- General tidying up (areas to be agreed)
- Skirting boards, woodwork, doors and handles
- Internal windows
- Lampshades, light switches and sockets
Did you know that we offer additional tasks too, such as changing bedding? We can tailor-make a personal cleaning schedule for your home and lifestyle at your free consultation appointment and at every clean you can let your cleaner know what your priorities are for that visit.
Maybe there are tasks that only need doing once a fortnight or monthly, such as cleaning inside kitchen cupboards and internal window cleaning etc? Think about adding these into a rotating schedule, rather than being carried out every week or fortnight. Quite often our clients will trust us to hold this schedule, particularly when we have been cleaning for them for quite a while. We will list out all the rotation jobs and make sure that they are taken care of on a regular basis.
Will My Cleaner Do Ironing Too?
At Struggle No More, alongside our cleaning services, we also offer an ironing service. This service is carried out at our premises and for a small additional fee, can be returned to you, beautifully pressed within 48 – 72 hours. Details of this service and charges can be found on the ‘Ironing’ page of our website.
Are There Any Jobs My Cleaner Won’t Do?
There will likely be tasks that a cleaner doesn’t perform as part of their duties and as such at Struggle No More, we don’t carry out tasks such as oven or carpet cleaning as these services require specialist cleaning equipment and materials. We will explain what we don’t offer at your consultation appointment, and we will do our best to accommodate your requests.
